Construction Before & After in Long Beach, CA
Photos show what words can’t. A kitchen that was cramped and dark, a bathroom with failing tile, a living room that never felt right. We keep a running record of our Long Beach projects because the before and after is the honestest thing we can show you. No filters, no staging, just the work as it happened. Here are a few recent transformations, with the story behind each one. When you’re ready to talk about your own place, call (562) 512-7086. Graham Stein, Owner, walks every estimate personally.

Recent Transformations
Bathroom Remodel in Belmont Shore
Before
AfterThe original bathroom had a tub the homeowners never used, a single vanity, and tile that had started pulling away from the wall near the window. We removed the tub, rebuilt the wet area with Schluter Kerdi board and a linear drain, and installed a walk-in shower with a frameless glass panel. The vanity is a KraftMaid cabinet in a matte white finish, topped with Silestone in a soft gray. The result is a bathroom that feels twice its original size without moving a single wall.
Kitchen Remodel in Bixby Knolls
Before
AfterThis kitchen was a galley with a wall separating it from the dining room, and the homeowners were tired of cooking with their back to everyone. We removed the dividing wall after confirming it was non-load-bearing, then installed Wellborn shaker cabinets in a warm gray and a Cambria quartz island that seats four. Hardware is Moen in matte black. The family now cooks, does homework, and hosts without anyone standing in a hallway. Drop cloths went down before demolition started and came up before the final walkthrough photo was taken.
Whole-Home Refresh in Los Altos
Before
AfterThis Long Beach home had good bones but every room had a different era of renovation competing for attention. The homeowners wanted a consistent feel without a gut remodel. We replaced baseboards and door casings throughout, refinished the oak floors, repainted every room in a unified palette, and updated all light fixtures and switches. In the kitchen we kept the existing cabinet boxes and installed new Wellborn doors and drawer fronts, plus a Caesarstone countertop. The house finally reads as one home instead of six rooms that happened to share a roof. Quiet tools during nap hours and a photo of the clean-up before the crew left were part of the daily routine.
Primary Suite Addition in Naples

The owners of this Naples home had a side yard that hosted little more than a struggling lemon tree and a path to the trash cans. We designed a 320-square-foot addition that now holds a primary bedroom with vaulted ceilings, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom with a double Kohler vanity. The exterior is James Hardie siding painted to match the original house, so the addition doesn’t announce itself as new. Permits were pulled through the City of Long Beach, inspections passed, and the written price given before the first shovel went in the ground was the price on the final invoice.
Accessible Bathroom Conversion in El Dorado Park

The homeowners were planning ahead for aging in place and wanted a bathroom that would work for a walker or wheelchair without looking institutional. We removed the tub and installed a curbless shower with a trench drain, linear grab bars that read as towel bars, and a Grohe hand shower on a slide bar. Floor tile is a large-format porcelain with a high coefficient of friction so it stays grippy when wet. The project took two weeks, and the homeowners’ dog had opinions about the drop cloths every single day. Pet-safe floor adhesive was used in the hallway where the crew tracked through.
Home Remodel in Bluff Park

This Bluff Park condo had original 1980s finishes: honey oak cabinets, vinyl flooring, and a bathroom with a sliding glass tub door that sounded like a warning siren. We replaced the flooring throughout with engineered hardwood, installed new KraftMaid kitchen cabinets and a Silestone countertop, and rebuilt the bathroom with a Schluter shower system. The homeowners travel frequently, so we scheduled around their trips and sent photos of progress weekly. A live person answered their calls at 11 p.m. when they had a question about fixture placement from a different time zone.
