Meet the Long Beach Team Behind Elmstead Remodeling Long Beach
We’re a local Long Beach crew, and we’ve spent years getting to know the homes here, from the Belmont Shore bungalows with their original wood framing to the 1950s ranches in Los Altos that hide surprises behind every wall we open. What unites us isn’t a company handbook. It’s a shared belief that a remodel should respect the house you’re living in while it’s under construction, and that starts with the people who show up at your door. Shoe covers on, drop cloths down, and a written price in your hand before anything gets taken apart.

Our People

Miguel R., Lead Technician
Miguel has been setting tile and hanging cabinetry in Long Beach for over 14 years, the last six of them with Elmstead. He’s the person who walks your job before it starts and figures out what the stud finder won’t tell you. If your Naples Island kitchen has a slight slope in the subfloor, Miguel is the one catching it and adjusting the cabinet layout before the first box gets opened. He holds a Schluter waterproofing certification and has installed enough Cambria countertops to know exactly how much overhang a breakfast bar needs to feel right. Most Friday afternoons you’ll find him at Houghton Park watching his son’s little league games, usually with a notebook full of measurements from the morning still in his truck.
Denise T., Service Coordinator
Denise is the voice on the phone when you call Elmstead Remodeling Long Beach at 6:30 in the morning or 9 at night. She’s been coordinating construction schedules for a decade and keeps a running mental map of every active job in the city, which inspector is running late at the Long Beach permit office, and which supplier has Kohler fixtures in stock this week. Denise orders materials, confirms delivery windows, and calls you before the crew arrives, not after. She knows that a family with a newborn in Bixby Knolls needs the tile saw turned off by 6:30, and she schedules around it without being asked. On her desk sits a photo from a Park Estates kitchen remodel where the homeowner’s daughter drew a thank-you card featuring our shoe covers.
Sam W., Senior Installer
Sam is the detail person, the one re-cutting a piece of baseboard because the miter gap is a sixteenth of an inch wider than he’d accept in his own home. He’s been with the Long Beach crew for eight years and specializes in finish carpentry and custom bathroom builds. When a Bluff Heights homeowner picks a Grohe shower system, Sam is the one reading the rough-in spec sheet twice before the plumbing goes in the wall, because he’s the one who has to make the trim plate sit flush. He’s also the reason every Elmstead job ends with a photo of the cleanup, he takes that photo himself, walking the job with the homeowner before the crew leaves. Sam keeps a roll of painter’s tape in his back pocket at all times, and if he tells you a tile layout will work better shifted two inches, trust him.
Olivia B., Apprentice
Olivia joined Elmstead two years ago after finishing a construction technology program at Long Beach City College, and she’s the first to admit she asks a lot of questions, which is exactly why she’s good. She works alongside Miguel and Sam, learning cabinet installation, waterproofing, and the patience required when a 1920s home in Rose Park has framing that doesn’t match any modern dimension. Olivia takes the lead on daily site protection, laying the drop cloth paths and checking that the shoe cover station is stocked before any toolbox comes in. She’s currently studying for her OSHA 30 certification and has become the crew’s go-to for explaining to homeowners what the permit process looks like and why that delay with the city means their wall isn’t getting closed up yet this week.
One Standard, Every Job
Every Elmstead Remodeling location operates independently, but the Long Beach crew holds itself to the same Cedarwell Care Promise standards Graham Stein set when he started this branch. It’s not a poster on a wall. It’s the shoe covers that go on the moment a technician crosses your threshold. It’s the drop cloths taped down before a single tool bag hits the floor. It’s asking before we move anything, respecting the family’s quiet hours, and choosing pet-safe products when there’s an option. It’s the C.A.R.E. values in practice: clean up like it’s our own home, ask before we touch, respect your time, and explain the price before the work. Graham’s 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every project this team completes. If it’s not done right, we make it right. That promise is stamped on every job, and the team in Long Beach takes it seriously. Ask any of them, they’re the ones who have to live up to it.
